About the project
Mobile App for the Travel Industry
The main goals were to build customer loyalty, reduce online advertising costs, and automate direct communication. The app gives customers quick access to offers, bookings (including travel documents), instant payments, and additional services. During the trip, it serves as a personal travel assistant, enabling contact with the tour representative, providing trip updates, and presenting destination attractions. Fully integrated with the website and reservation system, the application delivers benefits for both ITAKA and its customers.

Key features
What powers the solution
Extended search options
The app offers advanced search filters, including vacation type, hotel standard, departure point, and trip duration, making it easier for users to find the right offer. Combined with a data-driven UX process, prototyping, and A/B testing, these features create an intuitive and seamless booking experience.
Customer zone
The customer zone gives travelers access to travel documents, offer comparisons, and additional services such as insurance, parking, excursions, car rentals, and flights. Users can also contact their holiday representative online and stay up to date with the latest offers and loyalty program benefits.
Back office
The back office integrates customer and booking data, advanced search and filtering, secure payments, customer service features, and travel ratings into a single management platform. Full synchronization with the API, customer zone, and reservation system ensures smooth and efficient daily operations.
Access to information offline
A significant part of the app remains available offline, allowing users to access essential travel information even without an internet connection. Once connectivity is restored, all data is synchronized automatically, ensuring uninterrupted access to the latest information.
Results
Measured outcomes
The mobile app strengthened customer loyalty, increased brand recognition, and boosted sales of complementary travel services.
By bringing searching, booking, payments, customer support, and travel documents into one place, the app improved customer communication and became an essential digital channel during the pandemic.
The solution helped ITAKA stay ahead of competitors with one of the most comprehensive travel apps on the Polish market, achieving over 1 million downloads, high app store ratings, and 210% sales growth in 2022 compared to 2021.
NEXT STEP
What comes next
After more than 5 years of successful cooperation with the client, we continue with improvements and further mobile android and iOS app development. As the next step, we’re going to equip the app with new functionalities, such as automated invoicing or expanding with the satellite brand launched on the Lithuanian market. Thanks to the app’s module architecture, it is possible to quickly integrate the solution with platforms and systems operating in every other country.
